Training NX CAD Complete

The course completely covers the area of basic design work with CAD NX. The content is the NX environment and all means of 3D modeling except freeform forming and sheet metal parts

Course participants

This course is intended for designers who use NX to create 3D models, assemblies and drawings (Gateway, Modelling, Assemblies and Drafting applications). The course participant will receive training materials in an electronic form.

Course length

A total of 10 days in three cycles (usually 4+3+3 days) with weekly breaks for practice at your own workplace.

  • Introduction to CAD 3D modeling

  • NX environment, control and working with files

  • Coordinate systems

  • Reference planes and axes

  • Sketching

  • Extruded bodies

  • Boolean operations

  • Modelling of design features

  • Copy features and patterns

  • Model parameters, editing, associativity

  • Working with the model history tree – Part Navigator

  • Assemblies – working with components, navigating in the assembly, adding and moving components, settings, BOMs

  • Collision analysis in assemblies

  • Interpart modelling – WAVE, interpart expressions

  • Drafting – Creating a new drawing, inserting a drawing sheet, edits and settings

  • Creating a drawing from 3D geometry – Creating views, sections and details, edits and settings

  • Centerlines, dimensions, notes, tables, surface finish symbols, weld symbols, user defined symbols

  • Sketching in drawings

  • Drawing of assemblies – section through the assembly, hiding components in views, creating explosions

  • Drawing of assemblies – working with attributes to fill in a title block and a BOM, inserting, setting and editing of BOMs, balloons

  • Process studio – stress and vibration wizard - introduction to FEM

  • Practical examples
